Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Voltron and +1/+1 counters midrange strategy commanded by Wolverine, Best There Is. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana on turns 1 and 2 to deploy Wolverine on turn 3. Wolverine features built-in damage doubling and end-step counter scaling whenever he deals damage to creatures. The deck leverages a dense suite of fight spells like Tail Swipe and Ancient Animus to turn Wolverine into targeted creature removal while rapidly increasing his power. Power-doubling effects like Bulk Up and static buffs like Halana and Alena, Partners push Wolverine into lethal commander damage range (11+ power deals 22+ damage) to eliminate opponents sequentially starting on turn 5. High-end Gamma threats provide a reliable backup combat plan if the commander is removed.
