Megatron, Tyrant - Bracket 3 [Artifact Annihilation] by user2573169

Format: Commander

Commander: Megatron, Tyrant // Megatron, Destructive Force

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Mardu artifact-vehicle deck is built around both faces of Megatron, Tyrant and Megatron, Destructive Force. The early game is artifact ramp - Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, the trio of Talismans, and Black Market Connections - to reach the 6-mana commander on turns 4-5. The front face buys time with its combat-phase spell lock, while the postcombat conversion turns every life point opponents lost that turn into colorless mana. The back face then attacks as a Vehicle with living metal, sacrificing large artifacts to snipe creatures and dump excess damage on their controller. That mana engine feeds the two real finishers: enormous Torment of Hailfire casts, or hard-cast/reanimated bombs like Blightsteel Colossus and Reaver Titan. A heavy mass-recursion package - Wake the Past, Open the Vaults, Portal to Phyrexia, and Goblin Welder - gives the deck a strong late-game rebuild once the board is established.
