Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos big-mana spellslinger strategy built around Ozai, the Phoenix King. The primary plan leverages low-cost mana rocks and rituals to deploy Ozai ahead of curve on Turn 5. Thanks to natural haste and firebending 4, Ozai immediately attacks and converts unspent combat mana into permanent red mana that persists across turns. Once six unspent mana is held, Ozai becomes an indestructible flying 7/7 clock while banking vast mana reserves. These reserves are subsequently channeled into game-ending burn spells such as Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, or Comet Storm, backed by damage amplifiers like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and City on Fire. The list features robust spot removal and board wipes to manage opposing threats, though it remains vulnerable to stack-based interaction and removal targeting Ozai before his indestructible threshold is secured.
