Deck overview

This Jeskai spellslinger deck is commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest, turning a critical mass of Legendary Wizards into free high-cost instant and sorcery spells every combat phase. By deploying cheap, synergistic Legendary Wizards on the early turns, the deck scales Gandalf's X-value to 6–10 by Turn 4–5. This allows the deck to cheat devastating sorceries such as Time Stretch, Surge to Victory, Mnemonic Deluge, and Raise the Palisade straight from hand without spending mana. Because its biggest spells cost nothing to cast, all available land mana is left open on subsequent turns to protect the board with dense 1-to-2 CMC countermagic and phase-out effects like Clever Concealment. The deck rapidly converts board advantage into a lethal finish using extra turns, extra combat steps, and token swarms generated by Kykar, Wind's Fury and Talrand, Sky Summoner.
