Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Mono-Red Spellslinger and Storm deck commanded by Loki, God of Lies. The strategy leverages Loki's ability to temporarily gain control of and grant haste to any creature targeted by a single-target spell. By packing a high density of one-mana cantrips like Crimson Wisps, Expedite, and Ancestral Anger, the deck turns cheap buff spells into high-tempo creature removal and aggressive theft. An extraordinary synergy exists with Humble Defector, which taps to draw two cards and give itself away, only to be immediately stolen back, untapped, and tapped again for massive card advantage. Meanwhile, mana engines like Birgi, God of Storytelling, Runaway Steam-Kin, and Storm-Kiln Artist generate surplus mana on every cast. The deck finishes games on Turn 5 through storm payouts like Grapeshot, burn pingers such as Guttersnipe and Coruscation Mage, or an infinite mana loop with Grinning Ignus and Birgi, heavily shielded by Veilstone Amulet and Defense Grid.
