Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx Typal Midrange strategy centered around The Ur-Sphinx. From the command zone, the commander reduces the casting cost of all Sphinx spells, allowing high-cost, high-impact flyers to enter earlier than usual. The deck accelerates through kindred cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn, setting up explosive draw engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Kindred Discovery. By turn 5, the engine digs rapidly through the library, chaining large flying threats into play. Lethality arrives around turn 6, utilizing anthems like Coat of Arms or Door of Destinies to turn the flying armada into an overwhelming lethal force. Opponents are kept off balance through asymmetric sweepers such as Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance, which clear opposing boards while leaving your Sphinxes untouched. The deck recovers well thanks to graveyard reanimation and high card flow.
