Cycling Burn by Cha0sRuler

Format: Commander

Commander: The Wandering Minstrel

Bracket: 2

DeckCheck Threat Index: 27

Deck overview

The deck is built around Fluctuator reducing the costs of a large package of cycling cards. The intended payoff is a discard or cycling trigger: Cool but Rude at level 2 deals 2 damage to each opponent whenever a card is discarded, while Drannith Stinger deals 1 damage to each opponent whenever another card is cycled. Faith of the Devoted and Magmakin Artillerist provide additional payoffs, but they require more mana or offer less compact damage. Tribute Mage, transmute creatures, and Scour for Scrap give the deck meaningful access to Fluctuator, although they do not reliably find the pinger and the required card volume at the same time. The deck normally assembles around turn 6 and can threaten a turn-8 burst when it has about twenty usable cycling or discard cards. The line is finite, vulnerable to removal, and lightly protected. It is a focused casual synergy deck rather than a cEDH list.
