Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is an evasive graveyard-midrange strategy built around Syrix, Carrier of the Flame and Phoenix tribal synergies. It leverages self-mill, discard outlets, and combat to load the graveyard with resilient fliers such as Rekindling Phoenix, Ashcloud Phoenix, and Flamewake Phoenix. When Phoenixes repeatedly leave or re-enter the graveyard, Syrix triggers targeted burn while payoffs like Flayer of the Hatebound and Syr Konrad, the Grim amplify damage across all opponents. The mana base runs consistent two-mana rocks to deploy Syrix on Turn 4 or 5, transitioning into a multi-turn aerial clock that closes around Turn 9. While the list also contains an infinite combat loop with Combat Celebrant and Helm of the Host, its natural execution relies on creature resilience. The deck struggles primarily against enchantment-based hate and total graveyard exile.
