Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Dimir Aristocrats and Zombie Tribal Combo strategy commanded by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary game plan focuses on generating continuous card flow and mana by sacrificing recurring Zombie creatures—such as Gravecrawler, Poxwalkers, and decayed tokens—into powerful sac outlets. The deck controls opposing creature boards using asymmetric attrition engines including Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Noxious Ghoul, preventing opponents from maintaining viable combat boards. It wins decisively through compact infinite combos: casting Acererak the Archlich for free with Rooftop Storm to repeatedly venture through the Lost Mine of Phandelver, or looping Gravecrawler with Phyrexian Altar and aristocrat drain payoffs like The Meathook Massacre, Funeral Room, or Ayara, First of Locthwain. Backed by efficient Dimir counterspells, premier tutors, and resilient graveyard recursion, the deck reliably assembles its engine on Turn 4 and executes game-ending combos on Turn 5.
