Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure-storm and noncombat-damage engine built around Smaug the Impenetrable. The 7-mana commander is an indestructible, hasty 8/7 that converts every point of noncombat damage into Treasure tokens, turning pings, fight effects, and self-damage spells into explosive mana and artifact-ETB fuel. The deck layers Treasure multipliers (Xorn, Academy Manufactor), artifact-payoff pingers (Reckless Fireweaver, Ingenious Artillerist, Weftstalker Ardent), and drainers (Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, Marionette Apprentice) to convert those tokens into table-wide damage. Primary finishes are oversized X-spells (Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, Crackle with Power), alternate win conditions (Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, Knuckles the Echidna), and combat from a dense Dragon package. Secondary lines abuse Blazing Sunsteel or Pain for All on Smaug (or Brash Taunter) for near-infinite damage loops. The deck plays as a midrange ramp shell that detonates once Smaug or a critical mass of Treasures is online.
