Deck overview

Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor leads a mono-blue artifact control deck designed to dominate the board through tempo advantage, stax suppression, and explosive combat finishes. The strategy focuses on casting the commander early to accumulate ingenuity counters, enabling the deck to cheat mid-to-high mana value artifacts directly into play. Dense card draw engines like Mystic Forge, The One Ring, and Rhystic Study maintain an overflowing hand, while Torpor Orb, Meekstone, and Frozen Aether disrupt opposing development. Counterspells and protective permanents such as Padeem, Consul of Innovation safeguard the engine from disruption. Once a critical mass of noncreature artifacts and Thopter tokens is assembled, the deck closes the game decisively through Cyberdrive Awakener, Kappa Cannoneer, or an insurmountable Hullbreaker Horror soft-lock.
