Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain and control strategy commanded by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. From the command zone, Oloro provides an uncounterable passive life buffer that naturally increases your life total by two every upkeep. The deck leverages this life accumulation to stabilize early against aggressive strategies using pillowfort enchantments like Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Authority of the Consuls, supported by a dense suite of creature sweepers including Toxic Deluge, Supreme Verdict, and Farewell. As the mid-game develops, card advantage engines such as Cosmos Elixir, The Gaffer, and Bolas's Citadel convert your high life total into consistent card flow. The primary win condition centers on assembled infinite drain loops pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. Alternate win conditions include Aetherflux Reservoir, Felidar Sovereign, and combat pressure from scaling lifegain creatures like Archangel of Thune and Serra Ascendant.
