Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Gruul deck is a spell-chaining aggro-combo build centered on The Howling Abomination, a single-faced commander that grows and pings opponents each time it becomes a target. It uses Zada, Hedron Grinder and Mirrorwing Dragon to turn one-mana cantrips and pump spells into board-wide copy chains, stacking +2/+2 triggers and 2-damage pings on the commander while drawing cards and making Treasures with Storm-Kiln Artist. Secondary paths include storm kills with Grapeshot, poison from Venerated Rotpriest, and buyback loops with Haze of Rage and Seething Anger. The deck finishes primarily through 21 commander damage with double strike, often accelerated by Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar.
