Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet tempo-combo strategy commanded by Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. The primary game plan curves Kediss on Turn 2 into Malcolm on Turn 3. When Malcolm connects in combat, Kediss copies Malcolm's combat damage to all other opponents, triggering Malcolm to create three Treasure tokens every combat step. This massive mana acceleration sets up a Turn 4 win with Glint-Horn Buccaneer, which deals lethal damage to the entire table in a single combat step by looping discard activations funded by Malcolm's Treasure triggers. Backup win conditions include turning pingers like Reckless Fireweaver into Pirates with Imagecrafter or Runed Stalactite, or deploying Niv-Mizzet, Parun with Curiosity. The deck shields its combo with efficient countermagic and cantrips, using Treasure velocity to hold up interactive spells while developing its board.
