Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius artifact midrange strategy commanded by Mendicant Core, Guidelight. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap artifacts, artifact lands, and mana rocks to quickly build board presence and power up the commander. Value engines like Sai, Master Thopterist, Vedalken Archmage, and Thopter Spy Network generate a steady stream of flying Thopter tokens and card advantage while increasing the speed counter each turn through combat chip damage. Once max speed is reached, Mendicant Core, Guidelight copies every artifact spell cast, rapidly compounding board presence. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through decisive combat overruns, utilizing Cyberdrive Awakener to turn all noncreature artifacts into 4/4 flying threats, or by connecting with massive unblockable beaters such as Kappa Cannoneer and Guidelight Synergist. Strong recursion and redundant threats give the deck resilience against single-target interaction.
