Deck overview

This is a Bant Defender tribal deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist. The plan is to flood the board with high-toughness Walls and defender creatures, use Arcades to convert their ETBs into card advantage, and swing with toughness-based combat damage. Backup enablers High Alert and Walking Bulwark keep the attack plan alive if Arcades is answered, while Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive makes the many 0-power Walls unblockable. Finishers include True Conviction and Akroma's Will for double-strike alpha strikes, plus evasive outlets like Rogue's Passage. The deck wins through fair, go-wide combat rather than fast combo, leveraging ramp walls (Axebane Guardian, Overgrown Battlement) to accelerate out Arcades and a critical mass of defenders.
