Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Hazel of the Rootbloom to convert a wide board of Squirrel tokens into overwhelming mana and explosive combat steps. In the early game, cheap token producers and mana dorks establish board presence. Deploying Hazel on Turn 4 accelerates the game plan by copying tokens every end step and tapping tokens for extra mana. During the mid-game, token multipliers such as Parallel Lives and burst generators like Deep Forest Hermit swell the ranks. The deck closes out games around Turn 6 or 7 using decisive overruns like Beastmaster Ascension, direct life drain from Valley Rotcaller, or recurring sacrifice outlets with Chatterfang, Squirrel General. While it packs resilient draw engines such as Toski, Bearer of Secrets and asymmetric removal like Swarmyard Massacre, the deck remains vulnerable to board wipes and lacks stack interaction to disrupt fast combo strategies.
