Deck overview

This deck is a casual mono-black aggro-drain build centered on Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer. Because Whiplash costs a single black mana, he reliably enters play on Turn 1 and begins attacking with low-cost Equipment by Turn 3. Each swing drains every opponent for life equal to the number of attached Equipment, converting Voltron equipment stacking into table-wide pressure. However, the deck lacks dedicated ramp and tutors, making its card velocity modest and reliant on natural draws. It runs incidental life-gain synergies, such as Marauding Blight-Priest and Cabal Paladin, to supplement combat damage. While a handful of combat-trick protection spells help Whiplash survive spot removal, the overall clock is slow, requiring several table rotations to eliminate three opponents. The deck provides fair, interactive gameplay suited for lower-powered Commander pods.
