Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius midrange strategy led by Bard, King of Dale. It combines second-draw triggers with go-wide token generation. The game plan focuses on deploying early filtering creatures and recruit spells to smooth land drops until casting the six-mana commander on Turn 6. Once Bard is on the battlefield, all subsequent extra draws are doubled and token generation is multiplied. The deck snowballs card advantage through looters like Captain of Umbar while creating massive armies using Homunculus Horde, Bard's Company, and Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation. It aims to close the game between Turns 7 and 9 by attacking with wide, buffed boards supported by anthems like Thorin's Last Stand. While the deck features strong late-game compounding value and solid reactive disruption, its slow mana acceleration and reliance on creature combat make it vulnerable to timely sweepers.
