Deck overview

This deck is a focused Grixis spellslinger control strategy built around Anhelo, the Painter. The primary plan generates recurring 2-power creatures—such as tokens from Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Baral and Kari Zev, and Poppet Stitcher, or self-recurring threats like Bloodghast and Timeline Culler—to feed Anhelo's casualty 2 ability. Once assembled, the deck leverages high-impact rituals such as Jeska's Will and Mana Geyser to cast and copy devastating high-mana sorceries including Prisoner's Dilemma, Fevered Suspicion, Cruel Ultimatum, and Mnemonic Deluge. Secondary engines like Deekah, Fractal Theorist, Metallurgic Summonings, and Saruman, the White Hand convert spell casts into massive board presence, providing alternate win conditions through combat damage. While the deck boasts immense late-game value and spell duplication power, it relies heavily on board-based engine synergy and sorcery-speed execution, making it vulnerable to early aggro and well-timed creature removal before its high-cost payoffs resolve.
