Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Dimir tempo and aggro-burn build centered on Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The primary game plan curves a Turn 1 unblockable creature into a Turn 2 Commander ninjutsu activation. Because Commander ninjutsu is an activated ability that costs exactly {U}{B} from the command zone, it completely evades the commander tax and bypasses traditional countermagic. Once online, Yuriko's combat damage trigger simultaneously draws cards and weaponizes high-mana-value spells—such as Shadow of Mortality, Temporal Trespass, and Dead Drop—to deal massive, unblockable life loss to each opponent at the same time. The deck supplements this pressure with proactive hate pieces like Cursed Totem and Grafdigger's Cage, which disrupt opposing combo and creature engines without impeding ninjutsu. Supported by cheap counterspells and topdeck manipulation like Brainstorm and Personal Tutor, the deck rapidly compounds card advantage and closes the game around Turn 5.
