Deck overview

This Dimir deck is helmed by Jon Irenicus, Shattered One, turning terrible creature drawbacks into crippling liabilities for opponents. The primary strategy involves deploying creatures with severe negative effects, such as Steel Golem or Phyrexian Soulgorger, and donating them to opponents at the end step. Because Jon grants these creatures +2/+2 counters, permanent goad, and the inability to be sacrificed, opponents are forced to endure their penalties while attacking each other. As these gifted creatures attack, Jon replenishes your hand with fresh cards. In parallel, the deck runs a toxic infect and proliferate package featuring Ichor Rats, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, and Radstorm, allowing you to spread poison counters and multiply them to lethal thresholds. High-end fast mana and free interaction help establish this asymmetric attrition engine by Turn 4.
