Deck overview

This mono-green deck harnesses Kona, Rescue Beastie to cheat overwhelming high-mana permanents onto the battlefield well ahead of curve. By leveraging cheap tap outlets such as Springleaf Drum, Jaspera Sentinel, and Vehicles like Hedge Shredder, Kona circumvents combat risk and triggers its Survival ability in the second main phase as early as Turn 4. The cheated payoffs include format-dominating threats like Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, Ancient Bronze Dragon, and Tyrranax Rex. A dense suite of low-cost protective spells shields Kona during the vulnerable setup window, while engines like Garruk's Uprising keep the hand full of additional threats. If the commander is answered, redundant cheat outlets and robust green mana generation enable the deck to hard-cast its monstrous curve and overwhelm the table through combat damage.
