Deck overview

This mono-black commander deck uses Isareth the Awakener to lead a dedicated Zombie tribal and reanimator strategy. The game plan centers on filling the graveyard with high-utility Zombie creatures through self-mill, discard, and sacrifice effects. Once targets enter the graveyard, Isareth attacks to reanimate key pieces directly to the battlefield. The deck applies steady pressure through heavy hitters like Unstoppable Slasher, wide token generation from Endless Ranks of the Dead and Dreadhorde Invasion, and aristocrat drain via Marionette Apprentice and Siege Zombie. The removal suite features efficient black removal spells and creature edicts that disrupt opposing creature boards. While the deck possesses resilient mid-game recursion and strong tribal synergy, its low land count and dependence on the combat step make it vulnerable to aggressive board wipes, targeted removal on attacking creatures, and graveyard hate.
