Commander: Purraj of Urborg

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Purraj of Urborg is a commander-centric voltron deck that turns the deck's many cheap black spells into +1/+1 counters. The primary plan is to land Purraj early with rituals and rocks, suit it with equipment, and use black spells plus trigger payments to make one lethal attack. Vorpal Sword is the actual finisher: once equipped and activated, Purraj's first-strike combat damage removes a player. Secondary paths include Tainted Strike infect, Cultist of the Absolute flying commander damage, and a low-curve deathtouch/lifelink attrition game. There is no hidden commander; the list is built almost entirely around Purraj's black-spell trigger.
