Format: Commander

Commander: Bard, King of Dale

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Bard, King of Dale is the doubling engine: he makes every extra draw and every token creation twice as large. Teferi's Ageless Insight is the hidden second commander for card draw, while Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Elspeth, Storm Slayer, and Exalted Sunborn are hidden token doublers. The primary plan is to cast Bard on turn 4-5, snowball extra draws into token generators, and finish with Moonshaker Cavalry/Akroma's Will or Halo Fountain's fifteen-creature untap win. Secondary plans include Approach of the Second Sun after churning seven cards and the card-count payoffs Twenty-Toed Toad, Triskaidekaphile, and Laboratory Maniac after a Jace's Archivist wheel. It is a mid-speed value deck, not a fast combo deck.
