Deck overview

This deck is a high-impact mono-red Group Slug and Combo-Burn strategy piloted by Heartless Hidetsugu. The central objective is to accelerate mana into a damage multiplier—such as Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, or Twinflame Tyrant—and resolve Hidetsugu with haste. Activating Hidetsugu deals damage equal to half of each player's life total, which the multiplier doubles to deal lethal 40 damage to all opponents at full health simultaneously. The deck breaks parity on this symmetrical blast by using asymmetric doublers, lifelink equipment like Basilisk Collar and Loxodon Warhammer, damage prevention like Glacial Chasm and Dark Sphere, or by manipulating life totals so the controller sits on an odd life total while opponents sit on even totals. Backup lines leverage Neheb, the Eternal and explosive rituals to channel massive mana into table-wide burn spells like Comet Storm and Flame Rift.
