Deck overview

This deck is a Simic Merfolk Tribal Aggro-Control build commanded by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The strategy focuses on deploying a dense curve of low-cost Merfolk to activate Kumena's tap abilities without spending mana. Early turns establish mana acceleration, cheap creatures, and token engines such as Deeproot Waters and Deeproot Pilgrimage. By Turn 4, Kumena draws cards by tapping three Merfolk and begins buffing the entire board with +1/+1 counters. Turn 5 establishes a critical onset through unblockable combat damage using Islandwalk lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident, or Herald of Secret Streams. Untap engines like Merrow Commerce and Seedborn Muse multiply tap activations across each player's turn. Interaction features efficient countermagic, creature removal, and asymmetric board wipes including Raise the Palisade and Cyclonic Rift. Without Kumena, redundant lords and combat draw engines sustain a lethal clock.
