Commander: K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth's signature trick: converting life into mana by paying 2 life for every {B} in a spell's cost, then refueling with Necropotence and the commander's lifelink. The game plan is a hybrid of attrition drain and reanimation value. K'rrik turns the curve sideways - Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, and cheap black spells come down for pennies of life - while Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast multiply Swamp mana. Wins come from the drain package (Blood Artist, Marionette Apprentice, Al Bhed Salvagers, Susurian Voidborn, Funeral Room) triggered by sacrifice chains via Deadly Dispute and Costly Plunder, backed by mass reanimation in Breach the Multiverse and Awakening Hall and enormous beaters like Shadow of Mortality and Nightmare. It's a grindy engine deck that closes through table-wide drain and combat inevitability rather than a single fast combo.
