Deck overview

This mono-black deck is led by Syr Konrad, the Grim. It focuses on an attrition strategy that blends aristocrats sacrifice loops with group mill. The deck leverages high-synergy black ramp pieces such as Crypt Ghast, Cabal Stronghold, and Nyx Lotus to generate immense mana. It then deploys Syr Konrad, the Grim to convert every creature death, discard, mill, and graveyard departure into direct damage against each opponent. Symmetrical edict creatures like Fleshbag Marauder and Plaguecrafter clear opposing boards while advancing the deck's own game plan. The premier win line combines Syr Konrad with Mindcrank, triggering cascading chains of mill and life loss whenever any creature hits a graveyard. Even without Mindcrank, the deck finishes games reliably through large mana bursts that repeatedly activate Konrad's mill ability or mass board wipes like Mutilate.
