Format: Commander

Commander: Grismold, the Dreadsower

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari deck is built around Grismold, the Dreadsower, using a suite of -1/-1 static effects to kill the Plant tokens Grismold creates (and any other small creatures), triggering his +1/+1 counter growth each time a token dies. The plan is to make Grismold enormous while doubling those counters with effects like Doubling Season and Branching Evolution, then smash opponents with trample, double strike, and evasive equipment. Secondary payoffs include Blood Artist and Massacre Wurm for drain, Pitiless Plunderer for treasure, and Revel in Riches as an alternate win condition. The deck is a focused synergy engine that grinds out value through token death triggers and overwhelms via commander damage.
