Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo strategy built around Malcolm, Alluring Scoundrel. The primary plan casts Malcolm on Turn 2 and uses his flying evasion to connect in combat across consecutive turns. Each hit loots a card and adds a chorus counter. Upon reaching four counters on Turn 6, Malcolm cheats expensive spells into play for free, led by Desolation Twin, Ultimecia, Temporal Threat, and Starwinder. A high land count of 45 Islands guarantees regular land drops, supported by low-cost cantrips and mana rocks that smooth early sequencing. The interaction suite uses efficient counterspells, creature-disabling auras like Witness Protection, and tempo creatures like Kitesail Larcenist. Without fast mana, tutors, or combo finishes, the deck wins through combat damage over multiple table rotations, leaving it vulnerable to removal spells and sweepers that reset Malcolm's counters.
