Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir tempo strategy built around Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The plan deploys cheap, unblockable creatures on the first turn to cheat Yuriko onto the battlefield via Commander ninjutsu as early as Turn 2. Because Commander ninjutsu bypasses commander tax, Yuriko maintains unmatched board resilience and constant combat pressure. Each time a Ninja connects with an opponent, Yuriko reveals the top card of the library, puts it into hand, and drains each opponent for life equal to its mana value. The deck maximizes this damage by including high-cost cards with alternative casting costs, such as Temporal Trespass, Dig Through Time, and Commandeer, alongside topdeck manipulators like Brainstorm. A dense suite of low-cost countermagic and bounce spells protects the board while preventing opponents from establishing their own game plans.
