Pir & Toothy by Inguru

Format: Commander

Commander: Toothy, Imaginary Friend and Pir, Imaginative Rascal

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Simic +1/+1 counters matter build helmed by the Partner pair Pir, Imaginative Rascal and Toothy, Imaginary Friend. The strategy is snowball hand size and counter density: Toothy grows from every draw (especially doubled by Pir's plus-one-counter effect) and provides a giant card-reload when it leaves the battlefield. The rest of the list layer the board with redundant counter manipulations-Vorel of the Hull Clade, Zimone, Paradox Sculptor, Kalonian Hydra, The Earth Crystal-and a heavy draw suite built around Jace planeswalkers, Windfall, Teferi's Ageless Insight, and Kami of the Crescent Moon. Win conditions are flexible: a huge Toothy or Twenty-Tooth Toad (hand size twenty) can end the game via combat trample/evasion; Triskaidekaphile can cleanly hit twenty or exactly thirteen cards in hand for an instant trigger; and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries / Laboratory Maniac convert an empty library (self-mill from draw loops). The deck effectively plays a value-controllerial game until it achieves one of those payoff thresholds. ---
