Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir combat tempo and burn strategy led by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. It deploys low-cost evasive creatures on the earliest turns to enable Commander Ninjutsu as early as Turn 2. Because Commander Ninjutsu is an activated ability that bypasses the commander tax and avoids conventional spell counters, Yuriko reliably enters combat attacking and unblocked. Once connected, Yuriko triggers card advantage and symmetric life loss based on revealed mana values. The deck optimizes this trigger by stacking high-cost split cards and sorceries—such as Commit // Memory, Clone Legion, and Temporal Mastery—using topdeck manipulation from Brainstorm, Lim-Dûl's Vault, and Scroll Rack. It scales pressure through additional Ninjas and creature-type modifiers like Arcane Adaptation. While vulnerable to repeated creature removal and sweepers, its low-curve engine recovers rapidly to finish the table by Turn 6.
