Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is led by Abigale, Poet Laureate // Heroic Stanza, utilizing the prepare mechanic alongside Heroic and Repartee triggers to generate compounding board presence and life swings. The deck establishes early board presence with efficient creatures such as Favored Hoplite, Phalanx Leader, and Killian, Ink Duelist. Once Abigale is deployed, every creature spell prepares her to cast Heroic Stanza for minimal or zero mana, triggering wide team buffs from Stirring Hopesinger and Yoshimaru, Beloved Companion, token generation from Informed Inkwright, and board control from Agent of the Fates. The deck applies progressive combat pressure using flying, menace, and double strike to close out games across multiple attack steps while refilling through prepare card-draw spells and Trouble in Pairs.
