Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats and Attrition strategy commanded by Athreos, God of Passage. It aims to control the pace of the game through defensive pillowfort enchantments, targeted combat blowouts, and recurring sacrifice engines. Early turns focus on establishing Athreos alongside token generators and card draw engines like Ophiomancer, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, or Skullclamp. In the mid-game, the deck deploys oppressive attrition pieces such as Archfiend of Depravity, Drana and Linvala, and Tergrid, God of Fright to strip opponents of their resources. Victory is achieved without infinite combos by draining opponent life totals through repeated Athreos triggers, Syr Konrad damage, Kokusho reanimations, and lethal combat swings, supported by extensive graveyard recursion.
