Deck overview

This is a "bad gifts" control deck helmed by Jon Irenicus, Shattered One. The core plan is to deploy large or drawback-laden creatures, hand them to opponents at Jon's end step, and let the goaded, un-sacrificeable beaters attack the rest of the table while Jon turns each attack into a card. A deep theft/control suite - Control Magic, Treachery, Puca's Mischief, Cultural Exchange, and friends - keeps opposing boards stripped, while reanimation spells recycle the gifts. The deck ultimately closes with either the accumulated combat damage from donated 6/6s and 7/7s or with the big X-spell finishers Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. It is a patient, political midrange deck that wins by making opponents do the work.
