Commander: Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Dimir tribal sea-creature deck helmed by **Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep**, built to transform Runo into Krothuss and then generate overwhelming token copies of attacking Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents. The primary game plan revolves around graveyard setup and topdeck manipulation to trigger Runo's transformation, then using Krothuss's attack trigger to copy an attacking sea monster, often creating two tokens instead of one. The secondary plan is hardcasting or reanimating massive creatures like **Stormtide Leviathan** or **Inkwell Leviathan** and riding them to victory through combat. The deck is light on tutors and ramp, relying on a handful of enchantment engines and one-off recur spells. Many of its win conditions are straightforward but slow, and the full game plan can be disrupted by removing the commander before transformation or by blanket graveyard hate.
