Deck overview

This is a high-variance Izzet spells-matter token deck built around turning every instant or sorcery cast into an immediate flying, hasty threat. Rootha, Mastering the Moment creates an X/X Elemental at combat where X is the greatest mana value among instants and sorceries cast that turn, and the deck is stacked with high-mana-value spells like Magma Opus, Into the Story, and Mizzix's Mastery to make that token huge. The primary path to victory is a one-turn spell-chain finish: fill the graveyard, use Mizzix's Mastery, Dance with Calamity, or Surge to Victory to chain spells, then kill the table with Chandra's Ignition, extra combat phases, and Gratuitous Violence doubling damage. Secondary threats include Ovika, Enigma Goliath, Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Magnus the Red, and Furygale Flocking swarms. The deck is powerful when its chain comes together, but it lacks search effects to consistently find the exact pieces.
