Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-red competitive Commander deck leverages Slicer, Hired Muscle to execute a fast, aggressive stax strategy. The game plan accelerates into Slicer on Turn 1 or 2 using low-cost mana rocks, rituals, and spirit guides via the alternative More Than Meets the Eye cost. Once on the battlefield, Slicer attacks immediately with double strike and passes to opponents on each upkeep, dealing up to 24 unbuffed commander damage in a single table rotation. To prevent opponents from answering Slicer or developing their own win conditions, the deck rapidly establishes asymmetric lock pieces such as Trinisphere, Blood Moon, Winter Orb, Torpor Orb, and Cursed Totem. These stax pieces cripple opposing mana bases, free spells, and activated abilities while Slicer attacks for free. The deck protects its commander using equipment like Commander's Plate and deflection spells like Untimely Malfunction, closing the game through rapid commander damage by Turn 4.
