Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul creature-heavy stompy build centered around Ruric Thar, the Unbowed. By minimizing noncreature spells, the list turns Ruric Thar into an asymmetric punisher that deals 6 damage to opponents whenever they cast noncreature spells. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with an extensive suite of low-mana creature dorks including Llanowar Elves, Priest of Titania, and Ilysian Caryatid. It deploys Ruric Thar on Turn 4, followed by massive trampling finishers such as Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, and End-Raze Forerunners. Continuous card draw from Beast Whisperer, Garruk's Uprising, and Toski, Bearer of Secrets keeps resources flowing. Opponents face immense life pressure between Ruric Thar's anti-spell punishment, Harsh Mentor's activation tax, and combat swings amplified by Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. The deck reliably closes out games by Turn 7.
