Deck overview

This deck leverages Codie, Ravenous Codex as a five-color engine that doubles prepared spells cast from creature cards. By utilizing creatures with built-in adventure-like prepare spells such as Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall and Emeritus of Woe // Demonic Tutor, the deck generates enormous card advantage and mana velocity. Codie's ability copies every prepared spell cast, triggering powerful Magecraft and Paradox payoffs including Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Professor Onyx, and Flaming Tyrannosaurus. The mana base supports smooth five-color access through multi-color dorks like Bloom Tender and Faeburrow Elder. While vulnerable to mass creature removal, the deck features resilient individual prepare triggers that function even without the commander. Victory is achieved through non-combat burn, life drain, and token swarms over a concise multi-turn closing window.
