Deck overview

This Jeskai deck is a thematic spellslinger build that combines Legendary Wizard tribal synergies with the multifaceted incarnations of Gandalf. Commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest, the deck accelerates into play with cheap mana rocks and low-cost legendary Wizards. At the start of combat, Gandalf cheats instant and sorcery spells from hand whose mana value scales with your legendary Wizard count. The engine snowballs by drawing cards through Archmage Emeritus and Whirlwind of Thought, while burning the entire table with Fiery Inscription, Vivi Ornitier, and Gandalf the Grey. Asymmetric board wipes such as Raise the Palisade and Urza's Ruinous Blast clear blockers, enabling lethal aerial and trample swings powered by Balmor, Battlemage Captain and Gandalf, White Rider. A deep package of cheap countermagic and targeted removal ensures the deck can protect its board and disrupt opposing wins while executing its spellslinging game plan.
