Deck overview

This deck is an Esper combat-tempo strategy that leverages Kamiz, Obscura Oculus to turn infect and toxic creatures into lethal unblockable threats. By granting unblockability, connive (+1/+1 counters and card selection), and double strike each combat, Kamiz rapidly injects poison counters into opponents. Once players are poisoned, a dense suite of proliferate engines—including Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus, Inexorable Tide, Radstorm, and combat saboteurs like Thrummingbird—accelerates those counters to the lethal threshold of 10 without requiring subsequent combat connections. The deck supplements its primary win condition with high-value combat saboteurs such as Cephalid Constable for repeatable bounce and Gregor, Shrewd Magistrate for card advantage. Defensive enchantments like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison buy time against wide boards, while efficient counterspells, targeted removal, and board wipes maintain control of the table.
