Stax Control v1.4a Aug 26 by Baron_Buchanan

Commander: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a classic Azorius stax/prison deck helmed by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, built to bury opponents under a dense web of tax and rule-setting pieces before closing with slow, protected win conditions. The core plan is to deploy redundant cost-increasers (Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Thorn of Amethyst, Sphere of Resistance, Dovin, Hand of Control), rule-of-law effects (Rule of Law, Eidolon of Rhetoric, Archon of Emeria), and attack deterrents (Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, Archon of Absolution) to make meaningful plays nearly impossible. The deck then wins through one of several deliberate channels: double-casting Approach of the Second Sun, the Mechanized Production + Masterful Replication token win, a Stasis + Unstoppable Plan hard lock, or flyer beats from Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant and Isperia, Supreme Judge. GAAIV is a force multiplier - discounting your spells while taxing opponents - but the redundancy of the tax suite means the deck functions without him.
