Deck overview

This Izzet deck is an aggressive spellslinger and burn strategy helmed by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. The deck leverages Ghyrson's ability to turn every instance of exactly 1 damage into 3 damage, transforming minor pingers, 1-mana sweepers, and passive tax pieces into devastating multi-target damage engines. Low-cost creatures such as Firebrand Archer, Thermo-Alchemist, and Coruscation Mage rapidly burn all opponents simultaneously as cheap cantrips and rituals are cast. Board-wide 1-damage spells like End the Festivities and Blazing Volley act as one-sided board wipes against early utility creatures and mana dorks. The list maintains high velocity through card-draw enchantments like Curiosity and Magecraft engines like Archmage Emeritus. Robust interaction, including free commander protection and efficient countermagic, safeguards the board while cumulative burn closes out the game around Turn 6.
