Commander: Hylda of the Icy Crown

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Hylda of the Icy Crown helms a methodical Azorius tap-prison deck. The plan is to point an unusually dense suite of tap effects, stun counters, and untap-denial at opponents' creatures, then convert each tap into a 4/4 Elemental, a team pump, or card draw through Hylda's trigger. Soft stax elements such as Authority of the Consuls, Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, Silent Arbiter, Exhaustion, Mana Short, and Angel's Trumpet buy time while the deck assembles an army. The primary win condition is combat: mass-tap spells like Sleep, Choking Tethers, and Illithid Harvester create a burst of tokens in one main phase, and a tapped-out alpha strike closes the game. Secondary value lines come from Sharae of Numbing Depths, Sensational Spider-Man, Opposition, and Ultimecia, Temporal Threat. There are no infinite combos; this is a grindy control-value deck whose ceiling is tied directly to Hylda staying on the battlefield.
