Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Orzhov Voltron deck led by partner commanders Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful and Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar. The core game plan exploits Yoshimaru's cheap casting cost and counter-growth trigger alongside a dense package of legendary permanents. On turn 3, Falthis enters to grant menace and deathtouch, making Yoshimaru nearly impossible to block profitably in combat. By turns 4 and 5, damage doublers like Flaming Fist and counter engines such as Noble Heritage scale Yoshimaru into lethal commander damage territory. High-efficiency Orzhov removal spells like Swords to Plowshares, Vindicate, and Urza's Ruinous Blast clear blockers and neutralize threatening opposing engines. While the linear combat clock requires three full turn cycles to eliminate an entire pod, low commander costs and resilient counter-retention cards ensure the deck rebuilds rapidly after board wipes.
