Deck overview

This Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver deck operates as a classic Dimir Zombie Tribal Aristocrats engine. It leverages efficient early Zombies, lord buffs, and token generators to establish a wide, resilient battlefield. Wilhelt sits at the center of the resource loop, converting dying nontoken Zombies into 2/2 decayed Zombie tokens while drawing an extra card at each of your end steps. As the board develops, the deck stacks death-drain triggers from pieces like Diregraf Captain, Vengeful Dead, and Mirkwood Bats, transforming routine combat trades and sacrifice outlets into lethal table-wide life loss. High-impact bombs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Grave Titan, and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed accelerate the clock, while lords like Death Baron and evasion granters like Eternal Skylord enable decisive combat pushes. The deck possesses high structural redundancy and strong recovery from destruction wipes, though it remains vulnerable to exile-based removal and artifact-heavy strategies.
